Everest College Offers Paralegal Training in Thornton, Co.
Posted Wednesday, Sep 11, 2013 by Allen B. Ury
Would you like to work in a law office? You can, and you don’t have to go to law school to do it. Today, many legal workers are paralegals, men and women who are qualified to perform routine tasks like drawing up contracts, preparing wills, interviewing witnesses and writing legal briefs. Although paralegals work under the supervision of licensed attorneys, many enjoy quite a bit of autonomy — and assume the responsibility that goes with that. The job can be challenging. It can be rewarding. And it can carry quite a bit of prestige, especially for a career that doesn’t automatically require a bachelor’s degree to get started.
If you live or work in the northern Denver metro area, you can get the training you need to qualify for many entry-legal paralegal positions at Everest College in Thornton. At Everest, you can get a marketable background in a variety of key legal concepts and skills, including:
- Legal research and writing
- Contract law
- Criminal procedure
- Wills, trusts and probate
- Family law
- Civil procedure
In addition, you can choose to concentrate in a specialty, such as:
- Business organizations
- Real estate law
- Environmental law
As an Everest student, you’ll enjoy the school’s small classes and emphasis on personal attention. Your instructors will be legal professionals who bring years of real-world experience to the classroom. And you’ll get to actually practice what you learn by preparing contracts, researching legal topics, and interviewing “witnesses,” just as you would in an actual law office.
You can complete the Paralegal training program in as little as two years. When you graduate, you will receive an associate degree in paralegal, as well as be eligible for support from Everest’s Career Services team. Career Services provides help with all aspects of job hunting, including preparing resumes, rehearsing interviewing techniques and setting up appointments with local law firms and other employers.
