The Court Reporting program includes in-depth classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory work to prepare you for a vast array of jobs in the court reporting field. You will gain valuable experience developing machine shorthand skills, reading shorthand notes, and transcribing dictation material.
With the assistance of stenograph machines or voice writing equipment, you will acquire the tools to recount the words included in speeches, conversations, legal proceedings, meetings, and various other occasions.
The Court Reporting program includes instruction on the following:

Strong vocabulary, terminology, English, punctuation, and grammatical skills, as well as knowledge of policies and procedures of the medical and legal fields are essential to success in this profession. Certification is required to become a court reporter in the state of Nevada. Upon completion of the program at Las Vegas College, you will be prepared and eligible to take the Nevada Certified Court Reporting Examination.
