The Information Processing Specialist program will provide you with the specialized operating procedures of word processing systems, as well as the business communication skills necessary for entry-level administrative positions.

As administrative support becomes an essential part of today's business office, it is increasingly necessary to obtain the education and experience required to oversee the day-to-day activities of an office. Management relies upon information processing skills to gather data that is essential to the operation of a business.

You have the option to specialize in one of three areas, including the executive, legal or medical fields.

The Information Processing Specialist program includes the following areas of focus:

1. The Executive concentration includes:

• Executive secretarial office procedures
• Principles of management

2. The Legal concentration includes:

• Legal secretarial office procedures
• Legal terminology

3. The Medical concentration includes:

• Medical secretarial office procedures
• Medical anatomy and terminology
• Medical insurance forms

Credits earned in this program can be subsequently applied toward a related Associate degree program at Everest Institute, Rochester campus.

The program provides basic information processing skills to enhance previous work experience or prior education in other fields. Gain additional exposure to financial accounting, keyboarding and computer applications, providing you with a well-rounded curriculum.
