Business Courses

The term "business" covers an extremely wide range of interests and activities. Management is a part of business. So is marketing. Financing, accounting, human resources and sales are also parts of the business tool kit. If you believe you're interested in a business career, you need to acquire a working knowledge of all these different-but interconnected-skill sets.

After taking Everest's business courses, you will emerge equipped to perform a variety of roles in America's business community. Whether your ambitions lean toward management, sales and marketing, accounting or support, your newly acquired skills will qualify you for most entry-level positions in any of these areas-and more!*

Everest's business classes include hands-on training in the following areas:

  • Business Accounting Principles
  • Computer Applications
  • Concepts of Finance
  • Principles of Management
  • Introduction to Human Resources
  • Spreadsheets
  • Communications

Classes are taught by business professionals with years of real-world experience. They know how companies operate in the 21st Century and the demands you'll likely encounter in an office environment. They teach using actual business scenarios based on documented case studies. And you learn hands-on by working in small groups using the same tools and computer applications found at millions of companies from coast to coast.

Business Careers

When you graduate from any of Everest's business programs, you will be equipped to handle many entry-level responsibilities in a typical business office. The opportunities you'll have will depend on your personality, talents, skills, interests and level of education, as well as employment conditions in your local market.

Careers Everest graduates may pursue include:

  • Management Trainee: Management trainees are groomed by their companies to run departments, manage resources and supervise members of their staff. A management trainee position could be just the first stepping-stone on a path to company leadership.
  • Customer Service Representative: Customer service representatives (CSRs) deal one-on-one with customers, answering questions, taking orders and handling complaints. Many successful CSRs get promoted to supervisory roles or move laterally into sales and marketing.
  • Accounting Clerk: Accounting clerks process invoices, pay bills, connect incoming funds, cut paychecks and handle other day-to-day tasks involving the company's money. If successful, entry-level accounting clerks can be promoted to more demanding accounting positions. With additional training, a certified public accountant (CPA) credential is also possible.
  • Business Administrator: Business administrators look for ways to make a company operate at peak efficiency, as well as seeking out new business opportunities. Good business administrators are highly prized in companies worldwide. Although your initial responsibilities may seem meager, once you prove yourself, the sky is the limit.

Note: Program availability, version and schedules vary by campus. Please check your campus catalog for specific details about which business programs are available.

*Your own hard work, professionalism, experience, work attitude, local market and other factors will impact your personal employment opportunities and pay.
